This month we are spotlighting our guest Inspiration Squad member: Nina Donnel

Nina lives in Indianapolis, IN with husband (and best friend) and 6 fur babies (Syrus, Molly, Maggie, Smokey, Snagglepuss and Felix). Her children (Jennifer-32 and Alexander-25) are grown and living their own lives, she has 2 beautiful grandbabies (Bo Isabel-4 and Xander Reed-1 month). During normal business hours she runs a small real estate appraisal firm, honestly she just orders paper around all day, when not working, she and her hubby try to ride their Harley (when the hubby is not recovering from injuries gained when doing things he shouldn’t). In addition to scrapbooking her other hobbies include needlepoint, photography and reading.

She has been scrapbooking since 2004. She accidentally became a scrapper, but it was a natural progression. She was asked by her Dad to restore his parent’s wedding picture and once that was done, she was stuck with trying to figure out the best way to preserve and display the photo. On a business trip, her hubby found himself in an Archivers and that is all it took, he became her biggest enabler and the staff soon learned her name!

Ask her what she wants as a gift for a Birthday, Christmas or any other gift-giving holiday and she will hand you a list of various scrapbooking items, her latest obsession is Glimmer Mist! She is also a Memory-Works “consultant”, but that is more to support her “habit”, than to sell.

Scrapbooking provides her creative and social outlet, although she has an entire room dedicated to “hold” her materials, she rarely scraps at home, most of it is done in a social setting. She has discovered it is the only way she can get time to herself, trying to scrap at home turns into a conversation of “how long will you be or why did you do it that away?”, so she has discovered it is easier to “leave” the comfort of her work space and take it all to an off site location. This has given her the opportunity to meet other like-minded gals and learn from their creations.

If you ask Nina what her style is, she’d tell you it’s “Clean and Simple”, she leans towards Mosaic layouts and she’s not above “scraplifting” from her favorite magazine, Scrapbook Etc. or using sketches.

Nina is honored to be a Guest member of the Inspiration Squad.
