Your Commit 2 Paper Inspiration Squad

Katy “Soliel” Hall

Katy is from Atlanta, GA where she is both an engineer and creative dabbler. She’s girlfriend to Champ (also called just boyfriend) and has two polar opposite cats Puck (a Midsummer Night’s Dream reference) and Allie. She started creating things as a young girl under her mother’s watchful eye and has been actively scrapbooking for two years.

She is totally stoked to be part of the Inspiration Squad for C2P! She’s ready to lend her opinion on just about everything and spend some quality time driving Amy completely insane. More importantly she’s ready to bring a fresh idea to every kit and try and make everything she does hip. Every kit, every layout will have a flair of its own, and never, ever be boring.

Besides scrapbooking and designing airplane repairs, Katy enjoys photography, traveling, reading, blogging and fancies herself a part time writer (currently in the middle of three novels and about 10 short stories). She’s a movie and tv addict and loves getting into shenanigans with her friends.

She gathers her inspiration from a variety of things but in particular the beauty of words, the efficiency of symmetry and the simple complexity of nature.

Joyce Maurer

Joyce is thrilled to be a part of Commit 2 Paper’s Inspiration squad! These ladies have always amazed her with their warmth and talent and she believes this is going to be a wonderful experience for us all.

In the past Joyce was on the Design Team for ScrapGoods for two years and has been scrapping for about four years, has been married 12 years, has one step son entering 1st yr college, and 3 fur babies (cats). Joyce has a great job as bookkeeper/ office manager. She also makes her own jewelry, and dabbles in polymer clay and a recent addiction to ATC's!

Scrapbooking, to her, is not just a hobby or a craft, it is a very personal form of art. Think about how people are going to look at our art generations from now! Isn’t that exciting? And Inspiration is a HUGE part of our art. Inspiration for Joyce comes from so many places. Her husband is a tremendous source of inspiration and encouragement. Spring time with all the rebirth of nature really gets her going. And most of all, when she looks at a photo, she sees a story. Everything that comes to mind about that person or event in the photo; that is what she wants to get onto her pages... that story. Hopefully, Joyce will be able to inspire you to tell your story and share it with your loved ones and all those future generations.

Julia Kosove

Julia is absolutely thrilled to be part of Commit 2 Paper's local Inspiration Squad. She recently moved back to her hometown: Miami, FL after a 14 year hiatus. She lives with her scrap-enabling husband and 2 children, who are endless sources of inspiration. While she enjoys the company of her family immensely, she likes nothing more than to lock herself in her scrap room for hours on end, emerging only occasionally to grab a cold can of Diet Coke.

She began scrapping over four years ago but was held back by a crippling fear of cutting into beautiful paper. After finally overcoming that fear, she has been able to truly express herself in this art form. She hopes to inspire others to pick up their scissors and create layouts that will be cherished by themselves and their families for years to come.

Genie Smith

Genie lives in central Michigan and is a wedding and portrait photographer by day. She's married to a wonderful guy, Andy and they have a 4 year old diva in training... a true girlie girl. Evie loves to scrapbook with her mom and like mom, in true diva style, loves anything sparkly or pink. With a seamstress for a grandmother and a home-ec teacher for a mom, Genie has been immersed in creative, crafty activities since she was a kid.

She's been scrapbooking sporadically since high school but it has only become an obsession in the last year and a half. She loves nothing more than seeing a page come together after a long battle. Currently, Genie's loving paper flowers, any kind of bling, and cutting up patterned paper to use as embellishments.

Genie takes her inspiration from her world. As a mother and photographer, she's learned that the small things in life are what matter. She loves trying to capture the nuances of relationships and details of life.

Genie is honored to have been asked to be a part of C2P's Inspiration Squad and excited to tackle some new projects. She hopes to help us all release our inner "girlie-girls" and pass on the inspiration that she's gained from the other Inspiration Squad members.
